05/12/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
05/12/16 08:38 Lucky Lady is an adult female APBT / American Staffordshire Terrier mix. She followed her finder home and she cared for her for 3 days. Her finder reports that she’s friendly with strangers. On walks, she barks at little dogs but is friendly and playful with large dogs. Her finder describes her as friendly, affectionate, playful, happy, and high energy. She thinks that she likes music. Lucky Lady stayed inside and slept with her finder. She snores in her sleep. She ate dog food mixed with water in addition to people food. She seemed housetrained, pottied outside and on newspaper, and didn’t have accidents elsewhere.
05/07/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: And then there’s Frank Sinatra’s “Luck be a Lady Tonight”….either way, this little lady is adorable, tail waggy, affectionate, and so much fun to spend time with. She’s likely housetrained pulling on the leash until she finds the perfect spot on which to take care of her ‘business’, and then walks nicely as we head to the park. Lucky Lady has been well fed, her coat is clean, she’s social and happy to make new friends, all indicators of a dog who has enjoyed the benefits of a home before joining us. Once off leash in the backyard, Lucky Lady did some exploring before hopping up on the bench to join me in a cuddle fest. She’s a snorter when she snuggles and there’s no better sound than a happy dog getting loved on!! She loves getting her face rubbed, leaning into my hand as her tail wags. A plush toy brings out the gentle playfulness in Lucky Lady, but she’s more interested in sitting for a treat taking it softly. Low key, sweet and gentle, Lucky Lady knows her luck will change as she waits for her new person or family to find her. Our behavior team thinks she’ll do well in a home with average dog experience, so if you’re ready to welcome this lovely lady into your home she’s ready.
05/12/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Lucky Lady came to us as a stray, but spent three days with her finder. According to the finder Lucky Lady is friendly toward strangers, and is friendly and playful with large dogs. The finder also stated that Lucky lady seemed to be housetrained only eliminating outside and on newspaper, but had no accidents elsewhere. Lucky Lady pulled strongly on the leash during her relief walk and was interested in interacting with the assessor when entering the behavior room. She allowed the assessor to conduct all tactile assessment items while maintaining soft body language. During the tag Lucky Lady was more interested in exploring her surroundings then joining in play. She proved easy to handle when chewing on the toy item. We believe that Lucky Lady can go to an adopter with an average amount of dog experience. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is closed for a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (needs coaxing to approach.) she is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Toy: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. She does not place her body between you and the toy. When off leash with other dogs, Lucky Lady greets with a wagging tail and soft body.
