09/18/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Lucky Charm came into our center as an owner surrender on 9/14/2016 stating will no longer care for him. He appears to be extremely undersocialized. Owner reports he is not housebroken, was not walked outside/leash bites, eats human food out of the garbage/drinks out of the toilet. He has reportedly never been to a vet. Behavior around children and cats is unknown. When in the home, owner states he is very active and loves to play. During Lucky Charm’s initial medical exam, he was charging the kennel door and growling, but once on leash became polite/cautious, approached handler for attention. During his stay, Lucky Charm has been difficult to remove from his kennel, ducking the rope, barking and growling. Due to Lucky Charm’s very defensive behavior in kennel as well as his low threshhold for arousal and concerning owner surrender profile, the Behavior Team is unable to SAFER at this time. Lucky Charm needs to be placed with a New Hope partner that can properly modify these behaviors.
