Minimal restraint needed for exam. Allowed all handling with no warnings until attempted blood draw; began lip lifting and growling; muzzled; fought restraint a little, but able to do blood draw Objective T = NA P = wnl R = wnl BCS 7/9 EENT: Eyes – missing OD, appears to have NS and/or immature cataract OS, ears – <1cm aural mass outer canal AD, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: Grade 3/4 dental dz PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: wnl MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, pedunculated skin-tag-like mass right thorax, generalized partial alopecia and erythema with mild superficial pyoderma ventral abdomen CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: not performed Assessment: Moderate+ dental dz, Aural mass AD, Generalized alopecic dermatitis DDx: Superficial pyoderma, Endocrine, Open Plan: Recommend rescue placement. Performing CBC/CS/T4. Recommend removal of aural mass (and skin-tag) +/- histopathology and dental on placement. Lucky was brougth in as a stray so his behavior around other dogs is unknown.
9/24: When off leash at the Care Center, Lucky greets a group of small male and female dogs with a soft body. He explores the pens, mostly keeping to himself.
