BASIC INFORMATION: Lucky is a Parsons terrier mix, purchased from a pet store 13yrs ago. Lucky has no known health issues & has not been to a vet recently. Lucky was surrendered to ACC due to owner moving to to a residence that does not allow pets. SOCIALIZATION: Lucky is friendly around strangers and loves getting pet. Lucky has been exposed around 4-13 yr old children, Lucky gets along with children & tolerates child play. Lucky has not resided with another animal, but appears to want to chase cats & squirrels when walked. Lucky has not bitten or scratched another animal or person within the past 10 days. Lucky is best described as a loving, affectionate & playful dog. BEHAVIOR: Lucky does not show signs of aggression when owner touches food bowl while he is eating. Owner is able to take bone, toy or any object from his mouth with no problem. Lucky enjoys bathing and grooming, when an unfamiliar person approaches the home, he barks & makes the owner aware. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW: Lucky has a medium activity level. Owners favorite things of Lucky is, he is extremely affectionate & is always there to greet the owner. Lucky loves to play & would do best in a family home or a single person home with a lot of energy & time. Lucky is familiar with the commands sit, stop & come. For exercise, he loves to go ‘out for brisk walks. Lucky will pull slightly; he prefers grass to go potty. When left home alone, he is well behaved. He enjoys eating dry food from brand Pedigree 2X daily. BEHAVIOR UPON INTAKE: Upon intake, Lucky displayed a loose body & an open mouth. Lucky loved to receive attention from the counselor. Lucky allowed all handling & scanned negative.

Lucky previously lived with adults and has been around children ages 4-13 years old. The owner stated Lucky is friendly and playful around strangers, adults and children. The owner mentioned Lucky appears to want to chase cats and squirrels when being walked. The owner describes Lucky as a loving, affectionate and playful. It was reported by the owner Lucky is house trained, has a medium activity level and well behaved when home alone. At intake it was reported Lucky has loose body posture with his mouth open, he allowed all handling. During SAFER Lucky came into the assessment room calm and relaxed, he was friendly and social towards the assessor. He allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Lucky was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Lucky was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Lucky appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels he can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. His ears are back, his tail is down, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1: 2. Dog quickly pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2:2. Dog quickly pulls back his paw. Toy 1: No interest. Dog-dog: When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Lucky is social, continually greeting male and female dogs as he wanders in the pen.
