01/26/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Lucky came to us as an owner surrender as the owners no longer had time to care for him. According the owner Lucky is friendly toward everyone he meets. The owner reported that when Lucky is around other dogs he tends to play rough and overall has a high activity level. Upon intake he was described as friendly and pushy, but allowed all handling. He allowed the assessor to conduct all tactile assessment items without displaying any signs of aggression. However, Lucky did become very uncomfortable during the squeeze test and head flipped toward the assessor’s hand with stiff body language. He only displayed minimal interest in the toy on this portion of the assessment. The behavior department believes that Lucky is best suited for a home with an “Experienced” adopter with no young children. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, his tail is between his legs, body stiff, mouth closed, lip long, ears likely back, may lip lick. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1: 4. Dog head flips with an open mouth while pulling back paw, body stiff. Rawhide1: Minimal interest. Dog smells, licks and mouths, then turns away. When off leash with other dogs, Lucky rushes the gate with extremely high energy and a stiff body. He hard barks incessantly so he is muzzled before enter the pen with the helper dog for safety reasons. Once muzzled, the gate is opened and Lucky rushes the helper dog with low guttural growls, latches his front paws around her neck and snapping at her through the muzzle.
