BEHAVIOR :
Lucille came into the shelter on 8/15/16, so her past behaviors in a home are unknown. Behavior during intake: Lucille was friendly and allowed all handling.
During SAFER Lucille had a loose body posture when interacting with the assessor, she allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Lucille was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resource portion of the assessment. Lucille was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Lucille appears to be sociable; she did avoid the assessor and would not allow assessor to position her for paw squeeze displaying some behavior concern, so the department feels she can be suitable for an “Experienced” adopter with no young children.
Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears relaxed. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands.
Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is open for at least a portion of the assessment item.

Flank squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all.
Flank squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all.
Toy: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. She does not place her body between you and the toy.
