09/06/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Lows came into the Care Center on 9/3/16 as a stray, so his past behaviors in a home are unknown. Behavior during intake: Lows was tolerant of all handling with a soft body posture. During SAFER Lows was relaxed when entering the assessment room he had a loose body posture when interacting with the assessor, Lows allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Lows was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resource portion of the assessment. Lows was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Lows appears to be sociable, and did not display any behavior concerns, so the department feels he can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is wagging with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft, tail wag. Squeeze 1/2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw, licks hand. Toy: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. She does not place her body between you and the toy. Playgroup:When off leash at the care center, Lows greets with a soft body. He is sexually motivated and begins to whine while attempting to mount the greeter. He immediately stops and explores his surroundings when handlers interrupt but will reattempt after some time.

09/04/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Lows was found as a stray with another dog, so his previous behavior with other dogs is unknown. When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Lows displays loose and wiggly body language when interacting with male and female dogs. He attempts to mount both male and female dogs, sometimes able to listen to handler interruptions. The Behavior Department recommends that Lows be placed in a home with dogs that can tolerant his mounting behavior and that a dog-dog interaction be conducted with a potential adopter’s dog to ensure compatibility. 9/04: Lows greets with a soft body. He is sexually motivated and begins to whine while attempting to mount the greeter. He immediately stops and explores his surroundings when handlers interrupt but will reattempt after some time. 9/6: Lows displays loose and wiggly body language when interacting with male and female dogs. He attempts to mount both male and female dogs, only briefly listening to handler interruptions. 9/10: Lows displays the same mounting behavior but is able to listen to handler interruptions and explores the pen.
