A volunteer writes:
Lolita… Was she ever one in her prime? Our Lolita is a shy and proper elderly damsel. She lays flat on her blanket and looks at me with very gentle eyes. Should she come forward and meet me half way? She is not sure… I leash her, pull slightly and Lolita lets me pick her up without objecting. She nestles comfortably against my chest, in my arms. Such a lovely little girl… Lolita is with us as her aging and ailing master could not care for a pet anymore. A neighbor brought her and left no information with us. Lolita looks quite healthy and is very well nourished, well dressed and groomed. Her manners with people show that she was socialized and has a good nature. She acts timid but we so understand. Her tail is between her legs. She lets me pet her all over and looks at me with her big and barely cloudy eyes. She walks slowly(I bet she can go faster) as she is a bit tentative but surely, climbs well a few stairs, does she business on the way and rests on my lap for some bonding. It is really where she belongs. Her body is so relaxed. She is content… Time to go back ..Lolita is lifted to her kennel and placed on a cushy towel. Night night until we meet again,,, Lolita is a senior but one in good shape thanks to the great care provided by her former owner. She so deserves to know love  again ….in your hands. Lolita is at the Manhattan Care Center.

PROFILE:  10/16/16 14:48

Admissions memo:  10/16/16 14:46

Owner was aware that dog was here and wanted to surrender, but was unable to answer questions about the dog- a spanish speaking counselor may be able to take a profile from her, but she was very elderly and might just have trouble understanding.
