PROFILE :
Basic: Lola is a 13 year old spayed small dog. She is from a pet store and her owners have had her whole life. Her owners do not have the funds for her anymore. She has not had any injuries and has some fatty lumps on her. She was last seen by a vet many years ago.
Socialization: Around strangers Lola is very friendly and outgoing. She is very friendly with children in the home and outside. She plays gently with adults and children. She lived with two other small male dogs for most of her life and was very relaxed and playful with them. She has not spent time around cats or other pets. Lola does not have a bite history.
Behavior: Lola was never really housetrained and so she pees inside alot. She gets a little nervous during storms. She isnt bothered when someone touches her food while she is eating, or takes away a toy or a treat, gets picked up, gets a bath, touches her feet. Her owners havent tried to trim her nails. She will bark a little when there is someone at the door.
For New Family: Lola is described as friendly, affectionate, playful. Her activity level is low and her owner really likes how low key she it. She loves to eat and play with chasing toys. She finds ways to have fun on her owner and will hold toys in her mouth and run up and down the hallway with them. She has been kept mostly indoors and eats both wet and dry food. She sleeps in her doggy bed in the living room and she loves to eat Greenies. She is partially housetrained, but has accidents on a daily basis. She will use a wee wee pad if there is one in the house. She will whine briefly when she is initially left alone, and is very well behaved. She knows “sit”. For exercise she likes to run up and down the hallways and also likes long, slow walks. She doesnt pull on the leash and has never been off leash.
During intake Lola was nervous but allowed handling and collaring. She allowed herself to be picked up and held. She was very comfortable after a bit and was walking around and let herself be handled.
