02/01/16 13:00 BASIC INFO Little Man A1064124 and Lolis A1064125 are shorthair chihuahuas that were gifts to the owner. Little Man has been in the family for 9 years and Lolis has been in the family for 6 years. The main reason for surrender is that the owner is moving to a place where pets are not allowed. They do not have any health concerns. SOCIALIZATION Around strangers, they both are afraid and bark. they play gentle with adults. They lived with kids, who are now 17 and 18 years old, and they were both very respectful of them. They played gentle with the kids and also play gentle with adults. Little Man and Lolis also played gentle with each other. BEHAVIOR The only behavior issue that they have is that they are very protective of the kids when someone approaches them. During loud noises they bark. If you touch their food bowl, water bowl ,or toy, they are not bothered. They allow you to bathe them, but they do struggle a bit. they are not bothered if you remove them from furniture, if you carry them or pet them. If an unfamiliar approaches the door, they bark. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW They are best described as friendly, affectionate and mellow. they have a medium activity level. when home they follow you around. they did not have any doggy toys. they have been kept mostly indoors. They eat Pedigree dry and wet food and go potty in the backyard which is cement. when left alone, they are well behaved. They sleep on doggy beds. They have never been crate trained. For exercise they would be allowed in the back yard to run and play. They listen to the command, come. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE Both were barking and lunging at Counselors.
