A volunteer writes:

A small lioness is laying peacefully in her den. I see a “go slow” on her kennel card.  She must be shy… Remy comes to her door, though when I open it and is leashed easily.  She is timid, indeed , at first. her tail is between her legs but her instincts do not fail her. She understands quickly that she is with a friend. A walk around the block does her good. She does her business, nears other dogs peacefully and perks up at the sight of pigeons. Back in a pen, leash free, pretty Remy sits on my foot and rests, which gives me time to look at  her and see how beautiful she is despite a dermatitis making her coat look Sharpei-esk. Nothing that a proper diet and housing conditions can not handle. Her gorgeous and luminous eyes, two yellow topazes, light up her face. She seems so content. later on, I fetched Remy one more time for an evening walk. She was right behind her door and ready…After a little stroll, we spent some time in a pen. No more shyness…She came , tail wagging when I called her, sat on command and ate the same treats she refused few hours before.Remy then, came on my lap, kissed  and got hugged in return… A smart gal… A fast learner…A survivor. I am so proud of her…Remy, as expected, did very well on her behavioral evaluation and  even enjoyed her time with males  and females in our playgroups.. That’s a girl!!!  Come and see Remy at the Manhattan Care Center. I know you will love her , take her home as your forever best friend and give her the TLC she so deserves..

Another volunteer writes:   There is simply no way to resist this sweet wrinkly face, and I didn’t!  So quiet in her kennel, easily leashed and out we go.  Likely housetrained Remy went potty the moment we were out the door, has lovely leash manners, and off leash came on my lap for snuggle time.  She played a little game of weaving through my legs when I first sat down and it was so cute watching her gently amusing herself.  I would have loved to sit and cuddle with her all day but had to put her back in her kennel into which she hopped easily and lay down.   I’m in love with this gentle sweetheart who needs some TLC to make her super model gorgeous.  Sweet, gentle, kind and easy…..my kind of gal.
