12/29/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
12/29/16 17:57 Basic information Lion seems to be a young male chow chow mix. Owner has had him for 2 in a half weeks so there is not much past behavior or socialization. He has not been with children or other pets since being with the owner and family. He was receptive to some handling including scanning, leashing and vaccinations. He has timid body posture

01/02/2017 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Somehow, Lion reminds me of another breed than a Chow Chow..Those long legs, slanted eyes and pointy muzzle…Could he be a cross with a Samoyed? He is certainly a gorgeous young man well dressed and well groomed in a strawberry blond and red coat. He can be found at his door, sometimes, letting out a short bark to remind you that he exists… Leashed easily, Lion reveals himself to be a good walker, marking here and there his territory. He meets properly other dogs in the street and in one playgroup he attended, he ignored in Chow fashion the extreme pushiness of a female. Maybe he was just being a gentleman…Like most Spitz, Lion is aloof but friendly when talked to. He accepts caresses, sits on command and is patient with my interminable attempts to take a good picture of him… He does not really care for my treats that are unfortunately not my award winning ones. Lion clearly wonders what he is doing in the care center and seems a little lost. He was someone’s pet, well cared for just yesterday. Let’s hope that soon enough, a connoisseur of the breed will catch a glimpse of our beautiful friend Lion and offer him a loving home. Lion is at the Manhattan Care Center.
