06/07/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Lincoln previously lived with adults and teenagers. The owner stated Lincoln is friendly and playful around strangers, adults and teenagers. The owner describes Lincoln as playful and friendly. The owner mentioned Lincoln is house trained, has a medium activity level and well behaved when home alone. At intake it was reported Lincoln was very friendly with his tail wagging, he allowed all handling. During SAFER Lincoln came into the assessment room loose and wiggly with high energy, he was friendly and very playful towards the assessor. He allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Lincoln joins the game during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Lincoln freezes and growls when attempting to remove the toy item. Due to some concerns with toy item, the behavior department feels he can be suitable for an experience adopter with no children. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. His ears are back, his tail is down, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. Dog jumps on Assessor once play ends. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Dog may lick hand. Squeeze 2:1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy:4. Dog freezes and growls. Dog-dog: According to Lincoln’s previous owner, Lincoln has no experience with dogs. When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Lincoln is initially a bit nervous. He greets male and female dogs appropriately and wanders in the pen.
