PROFILE :
Lily is a 6 year old spayed female small black and white dog. The owner stated that the dog was given to him by his girlfriend and his has had her for the past 2 years. The owner stated that she does have an injury to her right eye. Lily has not seen a vet for this problem
Owner stated that when around strangers she is shy for a few minutes but will warm up. Lily has been around children and the owner stated that she is relaxed and playful. Owner stated that when playing with adults and children she is gentle. She has not spent time around other dogs so it is unknown how she will react. Owner stated that she has spent time around cats and she is relaxed and playful.
During fireworks and loud noises she isn’t bothered. Lily is friendly when someone touches her food treats or toys. She isn’t bothered when being restrained, pushed off the couch or disturbed while she sleeps. Lily enjoys being bathed and brushed. She will tolerate having her nails trimmed. When someone approaches her house or family member she will bark.
Owner described Lily as friendly affectionate and playful with a medium activity level. When at home she will follow her owner around. She likes to play with stuffed and squeaky toys. Lily has been kept mostly indoors and is very much house trained. When using the bathroom outside she will go on the grass or cement. When left alone in the house she is well behaved. She has never been crated so it is unknown how she will react. Lily knows how to come when called. She is used to brisk walks on the leash when off the leash she will stay by her side.

Look:1. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her ears are back, her tail is down, and she has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands.
Sensitivity:1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item.
Tag:1. Follows at end of leash, body soft.
Squeeze 1& 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Her eyes are averted and her ears are relaxed.
Toy: 1. Minimal interest in toy, dog smells, then turns away.

According to Lily’s previous owner, Lily did not spend time with other dogs. When off leash at the Care Center, Lily greets a group of small male and female dogs, with a soft body. She explores the pens, occasionally checking in with the group.

During her medical examination, Lily was docile and allowed all handling.
