09/03/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
09/03/16 13:07 Behavior During Admissions: Lily was brought in to our care center as a stray. Upon first meeting with the counselor Lily allowed the counselor to rub her head and behind her ears. Her ears were back while she was being pet. Lily was brought outside for a photo and while she was outside she actively engaged with her environment by sniffing the surrounding area. She then followed the counselor to the bench where she sat for her photo. Upon entering the building Lily was hesitant and tucked her tail in between her legs. The counselor opted to go slow with her, and patiently guide her back to the office. Once inside the office she relaxed, and was laying down while the counselor pet her gently.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Lily came into the Care Center as a stray; her past behaviors in a home are unknown. Behavior during intake: Lily was nervous but warmed up to the counselor after a couple of minutes, and allowed all handling. During SAFER Lilly was calm and relaxed when entering the assessment room she had a loose body posture when interacting with the assessor, Lily allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Lily was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resource portion of the assessment. Lily was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Lily appears to be sociable, and she appeared a little fearful, so the department feels she can be suitable for an “Average” adopter with a slow approach. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is wagging with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1.
