10/01/16 13:44 Lilo is a tand American Pit Bull Mix that is possible 4 years old. Police officers noticed the dog roaming alone. Lilo was friendly and playful. During intake he was excitable and pulled on the leash. He allowed to be collard, scanned and photographed.

KNOWN HISTORY: N/A Unaltered, Stray SAFER ASSESSMENT: 10/4/16 Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 2. Dog displays high energy and movement, but it is directed toward getting closer to the Assessor. His body is soft, likely panting, may jump up between attempts to lick Assessor. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Dog licks hand. Toy: 2 Dog takes toy away, keeps a firm hold. His body is between you and the toy, and he is loose and wiggly. No growling or stiffness. Summary: No behavioral concerns were seen on the assessment. PLAYGROUP: 10/03/16 Lilo was brought in as a stray so his past behavior around other dogs is unknown. Lilo was brought in as a stray so his past behavior around other dogs is unknown. When off leash at the Care Center, Lilo engages in gentle play but also attempts to mount both male and female dogs. He is tolerant of other dogs mounting him. When offered correction for mounting, Lilo increases the intensity of his mounting. As the play sessions continue, the mounting behavior becomes less frequent. The Behavior Department recommends that Lilo be placed in a home with dogs that match his gentle play style and that a dog-dog interaction is conducted to ensure compatibility. 10/3: Lilo enters the pen anxiously, pacing back and forth but once he notices the helper dog his attention focuses on her. Once in the pen he becomes sexually motivated and attempts to mount her but he does respond well to the handler’s interruptions. 10/6: Lilo displays loose and wiggly body language when interacting with a neutered male dog. He displays bouncy body language as he mounts the other dog and is tolerant of the other dog mounting him. 10/7-11: Lilo engages in gentle play but intermittently mounts a male dog. He persists after the other dog offers correction and increases the intensity of his mounting. As the session continues, the mounting behavior becomes less frequent.
