09/13/2016 WEB MEMO
a volunteer writes: Pretty as a picture and just as sweet as she looks, there’s no need to gild this Lilly because she’s already pure gold! Surrendered to our care when her owner fell ill, this gorgeous wee Sheppittie girl (only 38lbs!) is friendly, relaxed and respectful of kids, strangers, dogs and even CATS, she loves to be brushed AND bathed, has no guarding issues and rocked her behavior assessment with great scores across the board–what’s not to love here?!! Lilly seems house trained, knows and promptly follows commands for come and sit, takes treats like a lady, walks nicely on leash and greets other dogs with enthusiastic yet happy manners. As far as I can tell the only creatures she’s not so keen on (or perhaps a little too keen on!) are Squirrels, living toys just made for the chasing. People bench-sitting in the park laugh along with me when she loses track of one furry foe and looks all around while making adorable frustration whines, totally baffled by his disappearance yet not realizing he’s frozen in place just a foot away, safely camouflaged by a concrete wall. If you love to laugh and play, if you want a pet who’ll fit into any family or social situation with ease and if a gentle good nature is just as important as glamorous good looks, then Lilly is definitely the girl for you. Step up for her today and tomorrow you could be the lucky one bringing home a single, perfect little flower wrapped in a whole bunch of love!

Lilly pulls a bit on the leash. She was excited but very interested in interacting with handler during assessment – jumped up. The owner stats that Lilly is not bothered when some moves her food or treats while she is eating, when someone takes her toys away”. Lilly needs a significant amount of exercise, mental stimulation. She did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that she can go to an Average home. Look: 2. Her body is soft, likely panting, may jump up between attempts to lick Assessor. Tag: 2. Follows at end of leash, body soft, played tug of war with the leash and was easy to distract her. 09/12/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
09/12/16: When introduced off leash to another dog in the care center, Lilly is a bit tense, however engages in assertive-style play, and begins to vocalize when play intesifies. Previous owner did not cite behavior history around dogs, so it’s unknown how her behavior with them will translate into a home setting. The behavior team feels that Lilly should require a successful pre adoption interaction and slow introductions before adoption into a home with another dog.
