09/13/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: I’m not sure that it’s the intended pronunciation, but I always find myself calling this guy Lil DOE because (although not the right gender!) he is like a baby deer out of my Disney-movie-influenced imagination. He is so, so gentle and sweet!! He’s an older guy and a sound sleeper (even in a loud adoption room!), but he welcomes any nudges awake with kind eyes and an eagerness to go outside. He is very easy to walk and has a charming glide-like gait. We’re told he previously lived harmoniously with children, a female dog, liked sleeping on the sofa and lounging around the house. He may need to polish his housetraining habits, but definitely keeps his cage clean as long as he can. He loves treats and takes them gently, likes being petted and appreciates help scratching his itches, and just emanates a sense of wisdom and gratefulness whenever he’s out on walks. Did I mention how he is so gentle and sweet?! Lil Do is looking for a new sofa to lounge on and a person to give warm fuzzy feelings to daily…please come check this most wonderful older gentleman out at Brooklyn ACC! A volunteer writes: In a world of “don’ts”, everything is a “do!” about Lil Do. DO admire his puppy-like face! It’s hard not to fall in love with those deep brown eyes, smushy jowls and that heart-shaped nose. He may be a little rough around the edges, grey in areas that were once more colorful, and thinner than he should be, but it’s easy to see that Lil Do was once a very handsome young gentleman. DO take him for a walk. Age is just a number! Lil Do is ready to hit the streets for a leisurely stroll, and he will show you he’s got some housebreaking, has excellent leash manners, and is friendly towards everyone, including fellow dogs. DO bring snacks! It’s no surprise that Lil Do loves treats. Though he likely has a bit of arthritis in his back legs, he will try his best to sit on command for a cookie, or whatever else you have to offer him! DO sit down to cuddle with him! Lil Do’s soft, gentle personality will cause you to fall in love with him over and over again! Even his former owner describes him as mellow and gentle and says one of his favorite pastimes is sleeping on the living room sofa. The only thing left to DO is to come to the Brooklyn Care Center and ask to meet him today!
