04/02/2017 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: We do not know much about Lielie but what we see here at the care center is enough to tell us that she is a lovely gal and a great trooper. Lielie is quiet in her kennel and leashed easily after some petting and soft words. Her single eye does not seem to see but it does not prevent her with some guidance (the leash and my voice) to walk almost in one straight line around the block. Lielie is energetic despite her 12 years of age and has been beautifully cared for. She has a great weight and is impeccably dressed. Her lack of sight does not make her cranky or scared of people she does not know and an environment that is not hers. She trusts….She is a smart dog with great coping skills! Lielie indeed likes to be caressed, come on the lap and take soft treats from my hand. I hope that soon enough sweet Lielie will make her way to a soft pillow and the welcoming arms of a loving master. Lielie is at the Manhattan Care Center.
