03/03/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Leyla walks calmly on leash. She was calm and relaxed during handling. Leyla followed the assessor at the end of the leash with a calm and relaxed body language when playing tag with assessor. She was not interested in toys. She approaches the helper dog with her tail at spine level, body not stiff, ears relaxed, and lip long. Leyla was brought to the shelter by the police because of an incident with another dog. According to the owner Leyla she owns a small dog they lived with each other for the past year and were always respectful and affectionate towards each other. She stated she separated the two dogs and was keeping Cupcake in the bedroom. Her son came home this morning and let Cupcake out of the bedroom and as soon as Leyla saw cupcake she bit her but gave no warning”. Leyladid not show any concern during the behavior assessment but the behavior department feels that she may do best with an experienced adopter who can follow up on this behavior. Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 1.
