06/22/2017 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Lexus had it all…a family with children of all ages, a doggy sibling, playtime with other pooches in the park, fun with her family, a large yard to romp and sleep under the stars. Then her humans lost their home, and she lost her family. This is tough. Lexus was pretty confused when she arrived at the care center, but as the good girl and the well brought up pet she is, she is slowly bouncing back on her feet. Lexus has been so well cared for. She is gorgeous, well made, pristine in her perfectly groomed cream and cinnamon coat. She always holds herself so elegantly. She has a lot of class. Lexus walks very nicely on the leash, does her business on the way (we are told that she is house trained), comes when called, sits on command and absolutely loves treats that she takes very nicely from my hand. She started coming on the lap and giving kisses. She leans on her caretakers for bonding, and has a lovely smile that she never enhance by lifting her ears. Up and sideward ears are the dream of the photographer. She meets properly with other dogs in the street and is a little shy in playgroups with her peers. She probably needs a few more tries to get into the mood. Lexus came with wonderful comments from her former owners, and this gorgeous gal will make once more the family dog we all would love to own to perfection and bring life to our household. Lexus is at a great age to be adopted, and is waiting for you at the Manhattan Care Center. A volunteer updates: Lexus and I have had many walks and she keeps growing on me. She is a beautiful and elegant dog, reserved but full of feelings that she reveals bit by bit. Her serious face unwinds now into a heartwarming smile and she rests peacefully at my feet for much needed caresses. Lexus is the perfect picture of a family dog who lived with kids, another dog, and frequented canine playgrounds. She so wants to be again that wonderful presence that will sweeten and brighten your life if you give her the chance to be your new friend, forever this time. Lexus would love to go home with you.
