PROFILE :
Lexie A1062190 a 1 1/2yr old white spayed female Poodle/Shih Tzu mix that was given to the owner a year ago from a neighbor is being surrendered along with her “dad” Gucci A1062188 a 2 1/2yr old neutered male blue & white American Staffordshire terrier who was given to the owner as a gift from a friend 2ys ago due to the owner’s health. Both were last seen at a vet 8months ago and are currently healthy with no injuries.
Socialization:
Around strangers Lexie is shy for a few minutes (feed her & she’ll be your bff). She hasn’t been around children or cats. Lexie lived with Gucci and they were relaxed, playful, gentle & exuberant with each other. She hasn’t bitten/scratched any person or animal.
Behavior:
During storms/fireworks Lexie will bark. She isn’t bothered by the following: having her food/food bowl, toys/treats touched/moved, being moved off of furniture, being given a bath, being brushed or having her nails trimmed. Lexie hasn’t been disturbed while sleeping/resting. She struggles to get away when being held/restrained. When someone approaches the home/door she’ll bark.
For A New Family to Know:
Lexie is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, mellow & excitable with a low-high activity level. The owner likes how well behaved she is & how she gets along with Gucci. Lexie loves playing with Gucci and running. When the owner is home Lexie follows them around. She enjoys stuffed & squeaky toys and games of fetch, chase & tug. Lexie is mostly an indoor dog who’s taken out 2x a week where she doesn’t pull on her leash. She sleeps on a dog bed and eats dry & wet Beneful dog food mixed 2x a day. Lexie is house broken and uses wee wee pads. When left alone she’s well behaved & her known commands are “sit”.
Intake Behavior:
Lexie had a stiff, low body posture. She allowed all handling but appeared nervous. Lexie allowed to be scanned (+), collared & taken pictures of. She sat when asked but wasn’t too interested in our liver treats. Lexie was placed into a kennel with ease
