A volunteer writes: Big and soft…..and perfect. Lex was easily leashed for a walk, going potty the moment we were outside. We’re told that he’s housetrained and never has an accident, his favorite game is fetch, lived well with another pit bull, and is relaxed and playful around children and adults he doesn’t know. I loved meeting this sweet boy, and while it’s clear he’s missing his person, he gently and graciously makes new friends. As we walked (he’s good on leash) a small dog on a retractable leash, yards from her owner,
rounded the corner and started lunging and yapping at us. Lex stood there taking it all in with no reaction other than thinking, “Yo, are you yapping at me?”. He’s such a good boy, and as the owner of the other dog apologized, Lex gently wagged his tail. Off leash Lex joins me quickly on the bench for a quick kiss (as if I didn’t love him enough already), enjoys some treats, and quietly explored our pen. Lex enjoyed his first play date soliciting and enjoying some play. He’s a gentle sweetheart who hopes to find a new person or family with whom to walk gently into his happily ever after. Who’s that lucky person going to be?
PROFILE :
Basic information:
Lex a roughly 4 yr. old AM Pit Bull. The Owner got her from a breeder as a gift; she has owned Lex for over 3 yrs. The owner surrendered Lex because the owner can no longer walk him. Lex has no health problems and was last taken to a vet in early 2016.
Socialization:
Around strangers Lex is friendly playful. Lex has not lived with children but he is relaxed and playful around children and adults he does not know. Lex has lived with a 2 year old male pit bull and they both got along well with each other. Lex has never bitten anyone.

Lex likes to be brushed and given bathes but has never had his nails trimmed. When an unfamiliar person or animal approaches a family member or his home he approaches them in a friendly manor. The owner does not know how Lex is around loud noises such as storms or fireworks.
For a new family to know:
The owner describes Lex as friendly, affectionate and playful with a medium activity level. His favorite activity is to play fetch with his owner. In the home Lex tends to follow the owner around the house and is kept mainly indoors. Lex sleeps in the floor of the bedroom on a blanket. Lex was fed Blue buffalo dry dog food three times a day. He is house trained and has never had an accident in the home, when outside he goes to the bathroom on or around trees and grass. Lex knows the commands “sit “and “come here”.
