04/06/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Lex came in as a stray, but the finder kept Lex for 2 weeks. The finder stated Lex is gentle, relaxed and playful around the finder 2 year old nephew. The finder mentioned Lex previously stayed with another dog and was exuberant, and playful. The finder describes Lex as affectionate and anxious. It was reported by the finder Lex can be destructive in the house when left alone, he is partially house trained, has a medium activity level. At intake it was reported Lex was friendly and allowed all handling. During SAFER Lex came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, he was friendly and playful towards the assessor. He allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Lex joins the game during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Lexy was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Lex is reported to be chewing on household items when left alone for long periods, so we advise future adopters to make sure to provide mentally and physically stimulating, appropriate chew toys to keep Lex occupied when left alone. The behavior department feels he can be suitable for an experience adopter. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 2.
