A Little Bit About Me…
A volunteer writes: Leonis drew a lot of attention while on our walk to the park. He is quite a good looking young fellow, semi low rider, muscular despite being on the thin side and so beautifully dressed in a two tone chocolate and mocca coat. I love his wrinkly face and the way he holds himself for the photo shoot, like he is ready to enter a boxing ring. Our next Rambo? I doubt it. He is one playful dog with his peers in playgroups. Leonis is strong, likely house trained, respectful of little critters and interested in other dogs neared. Free in a pen, he just explores the premises, comes on a bench next to me for a butt scratch and a furtive kiss, takes politely treats and sits after a few prompts. Toys or balls do not interest him at the moment, but it might just happen as time goes by or in the home. Leonis is a very handsome and attractive young man who so would love to be your friend. Come and meet him soon at the Manhattan Care Center and take him home.

PLAY GROUP :
5/18: When introduced off leash to a female greeter dog, Leonis greets politely and engages in brief bouts of bouncy play.
5/20: Leonis keeps mostly to himself.
Date of intake: 17-May-2018
Summary: Leonis had a wiggly body and allowed handling.
ENERGY LEVEL: We have no history on Leonis so we cannot be certain of his behavior in a home environment. However, he is a young, enthusiastic, social dog who will need daily mental and physical activity to keep him engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct his energy and enthusiasm.
