08/03/17 12:52 Basic Information: Lefty is a large, white and black brindle unaltered male pup. His owner bought him from a breeder when he was about two months. He last went to the vet about a year ago and has no known health problems. Socialization: Lefty is very friendly and outgoing to strangers. He’s lived with children a year old and up and wasw very gentle and respectful with them. He’s spent time around numerous larger dogs at the park and is gentle and playful. He’s never bitten another human or animal before too. Behavior: Lefty often gets a little anxious when left alone and if fireworks go off he’ll try to escape. He isn’t bothered when touching or takings away food, bones or toys. He loves to get bathed and jumps in the tub when the waters running. He’s never gotten his nails trimmed but loves to get brushed. If someone approaches the yard or home he’ll bark then greet them with lick. For a New Family to Know: Lefty is very friendly and now has mellowed out with age. When he does play his activity level gets high, he enjoys running around and playing fetch. When you’re around the home he’ll chill in his favorite spot on his dog bed. He enjoys chew bones and stuffed toys. At night time he sleeps in his dog bed in the owner’s room. He eats dry Pedigree food. He is very house trained and never has accidents. He goes potty on the grass usually. In the home alone he is well behaved and has never been crate trained. He knows “sit”, “paw”, “come” and “stay” for commands. He loves to run around and play at the dog park for exercise and when he’s off the leash he’ll stay by your side. Behavior During Intake: Lefty was a very sweet boy, he greeted me with a loose, wiggly body and an open mouth. I scanned him for a microchip and he tried licking it and my hand. He left me collar him with no problem and photograph him.

A volunteer writes: This guy. My frosted-faced, debonair, sprightly senior with whom I fell in love at first glance. Of course, don’t tell Lefty he’s a senior, as he’ll defy you with a lively walking pace, a spry step up and down a long flight of stairs, and his bouncy, playful style of chase. And his kisses…oh, so sweet. Lefty has definitely found the fountain of youth and wants to cherish every moment. Surrendered by the only family he’s ever known due to landlord issues, we’re told he’s lived gently and respectfully with children ages 1 and up, is gentle and playful with other dogs, jumps into the tub as the water is running as he loves baths (love that!!), is very housetrained (check), is well behaved when left home alone, knows ‘sit’, ‘paw’, ‘come’, and ‘stay’, loves to play, but is also super mellow. Lefty is the perfect city dog, not bothered by city noises and rumbling trucks up 1st Ave. He hated being tethered for pictures, ‘life is short, let’s keep moving’ is his motto. Off leash, I got kisses, we played a little chase, then Lefty smartly lapped up some rain water from the bench (so cute!). So handsome in his pristine white coat, Lefty is clearly a dog who was loved by his family. Looking for his retirement home in which to spend his golden years, he’s just perfect in my opinion. Let’s get this fabulous dog into the embrace of a new person or family. Another volunteer writes: Overheard: Volunteer 1-“Have you met Lefty yet?” Vol 2: “No, should I?”. Vol 1: “OMG, yes! Treat yourself, he’s amazing. Great on leash, fun, friendly, a spry older guy who you’d never know is ‘old’. He’s really great to be with, loves treats. Plus, he needs the potty break because he’s housetrained.” Overheard later: Vol 1: “What did you think of Lefty?”. Vol 2 : “Love him, he’s everything you said and more. What a joy to be with. Thanks for telling me about him.”
