03/28/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Lady Gaga is singing the Blues….She is totally lost in this world that is not hers…Where is her home, where are her humans..? Lady Gaga is a bit stressed and it shows in playgroups with her peers too, she prefers to keep to herself. But she is a beautiful and unusual dog, and wears such a gorgeous coat, she appears healthy and yes, she seems to have been many times a mother. Her face is so unusual and crowned by giant ears. She was someone’s pet just few days ago and it seems that she was well cared for…Lady Gaga is hoping for the “moon”…A new owner, a new family might just be the remedy to her distress. I can see her as a loyal companion once she finds herself again in a home environment… Come and meet Lady G at the Manhattan Care Center. She could just be the soul you always wanted to rescue to give her a better and rosier life.
03/25/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Lady Gaga pulls a bit on the leash. She was calm and relaxed during handling. Lady Gaga was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. She was not interested in toys. Lady Gaga did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that she can go to an Average home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful but unresponsive when touched. Approaches the Assessor when the game ends. Dog is likely crouching, may have long lip or lip lick. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Toy 1: No interest. Playgroup Notes: Lady Gaga is assertive with the helper dog. She T’s his shoulders, mounts him and vocalizes not responding to correction from him.
03/23/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Lady Gaga displays assertive behaviors with other dogs during off leash interaction. She did not respond to correction from the other dog. She hypersalivates when approached, then begins to attempt to mount and vocalize. Based on observation, the behavior department feels that Lady Gaga would be most comfortable acclimating into a home as the only resident dog before following up on her behaviors around them. She arrived into our care as a stray so in-home behaviors with dogs are unknown. When off leash with other dogs, Lady Gaga allows greeting and spends more time sniffing the yard. 3/24 update: Lady Gaga is assertive with the helper dog. She T’s his shoulders, mounts him and vocalizes not responding to correction from him.
