I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 04/19/2016 from NY 11365, owner surrender reason stated was MOVE2PRIVA. I came in with Group/Litter #K16-054160.

04/19/16 BASIC INFORMATION: Lady Bug is a gray/ white American pit bull terrier. Lady Bug was purchased from breeder & has no known health issues. Lady Bug came in together with dog Tramp & son Thor. Lady bug was surrendered to ACC due to a residential move to a home that does not allow pets. SOCIALIZATION: Lady Bug is friendly around strangers and loves getting pet. Lady Bug has been exposed around 1-5 yr old children, Lady Bug gets along with children & adults. Lady Bug has resided with two other dogs & gets along well with them. Lady Bug, interacts in a friendly way with other dogs in the park. She has not been exposed to cats or other small animals. Lady Bug has not bitten or scratched another animal or person. Lady Bug is best described as a loving, affectionate & playful dog. BEHAVIOR: Lady Bug does not show signs of aggression when owner touches food bowl while she is eating. Owner is able to take bone, toy or any object from her mouth with no problem. Lady Bug enjoys bathing and grooming, when an unfamiliar person approaches the home, she barks & makes the owner aware. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW: Lady Bug has a high activity level. Owners favorite traits of Lady Bug is, she is extremely affectionate & is always there to greet the owner. She loves to play & would do best in a family home with alot of energy & time. Lady Bug has been crate trained and does well for up 8 hours. Lady Bug is familiar with the commands sit, stop & come. For exercise, she loves to go out for brisk walks. she has been kept mostly indoors & enjoys eating dry & wet food from any brand. Lady Bug will go potty on grass or cement. She is house trained & wee-wee pad trained. BEHAVIOR UPON INTAKE: Upon intake, Lady Bug displayed a loose body & an open mouth. Lady Bug loved to receive attention from the counselor. Lady Bug allowed all handling & scanned negative.

Lady bug previously lived with 1 adult and has been exposed to children ages 1-5 years old. The owner stated Lady Bug gets along with children and adults; she also has resided with two other dogs. Lady Bug plays and interacts with the other dogs. The owner describes Lady Bug is loving, affectionate and playful. It was reported by the owner Lady Bug is house trained, wee-wee pad trained, crate trained and does well up to about 8 hours. At intake it was reported Lady Bug had loose body posture and very friendly, she allowed all handling. During SAFER Lady Bug came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, she was friendly and playful towards the assessor. She allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Lady Bug was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Lady Bug was easy to handle when engaged with the item. During dog to dog interaction Lady Bug rushes toward the gate with high energy and low growls. Due to this behavior, she was muzzled before she entered the pen. Once in the pen, she immediately lunges on top of the helper dog and the session is ended. The behavior department feels she can be suitable for an experience adopter and we recommend a thorough dog to dog interaction before being place into a permanent home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1 & 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Toy: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. She does not place her body between you and the toy. Dog-dog: Lady Bug rushes toward the gate with high energy and low growls. Due to this behavior, she was muzzled before she entered the pen. Once in the pen, she immediately lunges on top of the helper dog and the session is ended.
