I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 01/17/2017 from NY 11435, owner surrender reason stated was LLORDPRIVA.

01/17/17 21:24 Lady is a 6 months old Female, American pit-bull, she was bred from home. The owner to had surrender Lady due to her biting an individual and the landlord not allowing lady to stay in the building. Lady has no known health issues or injures, and has not recently been seen by the vet. Socialization: When Lady comes in contact with a stranger she is shy at first but with time she relaxes and becomes friendly and playful. She has lived with a 10 year-old child and plays very exuberant with the child but not too rough. Lady has lived with one other dog her mother who she likes to wrestle with and displays exuberant behavior. Lady has been an individual during her exuberant play but did not break skin. Behavior: During Storms or fireworks, Lady barks until the noise stops. If an individual tries to put their hand in or attempts to touch Lady’s food or bowl she isn’t bothered and allows it to be removed. When someone attempts to take way a treat or a toy from Lady she isn’t bothered. During bath time Lady is slightly tense and will attempt to jump out of the tub. When an unfamiliar person or family member comes to the house or approaches her owner she normally barks for the first few minutes then goes up to the individual to sniff them and relaxes. For a new family: Lady was described as playful, affectionate, shy around strangers by her previous family. She has a very high activity level and often enjoys playing with shoes and socks, and tug -a-war with the other female dog. Lady is feed dry Pedigree brand 3 times a day. Lady is not house trained and has accidents in the home daily. When she uses the potty outdoors its usually on cement , though she is mostly kept indoors, Lady has never been crate trained, and only goes outside to the yard. Also she has never been on leash. Admission behavior: When the counselor approached Lady , she was very tense and hid behind her owner’s chair. During intake she stayed under the chair and stared at the counselor with wide eyes, the counselor asked the owner to collar and scan lady for a microchip due to how uncomfortable she was.

KNOWN HISTORY: Full profile 1/17/17 Unaltered female, Owner surrender (6 months) Previously lived with: “Adults, 1 child (10 year old boy), and another dog” Behavior toward strangers: Lady is a bit shy in the beginning but with some time warms up, and is friendly. Behavior toward children: Engages in exuberant play, but not rough. Behavior toward dogs: Playful, and active. Behavior toward cats: Unknown Resource guarding: Lady is not bothered when her food, or toys are taken away. Bite history: Yes; On Saturday afternoon 01.14.17 Tiwanna’s 10 year old son’s friends were playing with Lady and was crawling under the table; when Lady jumped on the friend, which caused eight puncture wounds on the boys inner thighs. Housetrained: No ( Lady does have accidents daily, and has not been crate-trained). Energy level/descriptors: Lady was described as playful, affectionate, She has a very high activity level. Other notes: During intake she was very tense and hid behind her owner’s chair. Lady stayed under the chair and stared at the counselor with wide eyes. SAFER ASSESSMENT: 1/25/17 Look: 2. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her body posture is tense and fearful; his tail is tucked and not moving. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, her tail is semi tucked, body tense, mouth closed, ears back. Tag: 2. Dog is fearful but unresponsive. Body low, tail tucked, with mouth closed. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Her eyes are averted and his ears are back. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Her eyes are averted and his ears are back. Toy 1: No interest. Summary: Lady appeared fearful and a bit distracted. She kept a low body posture and was tense throughout her assessment. PLAYGROUP: According to Lady’s previous owner, Lady has lived with one other dog her mother who she likes to wrestle with and displays exuberant behavior.
