A volunteer writes: Lady is said to be a Chihuahua but she so reminds me of an Easter bunny… She is a pretty and petite elderly dressed in a clean latte and white wiry coat. There must be a Terrier up her ancestry. Lady is calm in her kennel but at times circles a little . She is likely blind and needs help walking the hallways or in the street. She prefers from far, the comfort and safety of my arms. She enjoys to be petted and after a while, even fell asleep on my lap… Lady came to us with an unlikely friend,Petey, a large Collie mix as their owner was taken to the hospital. I really believe that they were well cared for and loved as both dogs are sociable, friendly and loving. It is tough for any pet o be separated for its familiar environment and family but a disability makes it even more challenging. We hope that soon enough, sweet and gentle Lady will find herself on safe and welcoming grounds and taste again the love of a master. Lady is at the Manhattan Care Center.
PROFILE:
Basic Information
Linda is an approximate 10 year old female Chihuahua mix who was brought in by the police. Police were called to pick up two dogs because the owner of the dogs is in the hospital. A relative of the owner did not want to keep. Police stated the pets tolerated all handling and never showed any signs of aggression. The police transferred the dogs to our facility loose in their car.
Behavior during Intake
Linda tolerated all handling during intake. She did not display any signs of aggression during the intake procedure.
