Basic information
Lady is a 10 year old female white and brown beagle terrier mix with no known medical conditions. Owners have had Lady for 10 years and are surrendering because they moved to a place that does not accept animals
Socializations
Lady has lived with a child recently the age of 8 months. Lady is respectful towards the child but when they go to touch her she becomes scared and will run away. Around strangers Lady is mostly friendly but will bark at certain people she doesn’t know. When playing with adults Lady is somewhat rough and likes to jump up on people. Lady has not lived with cats. Lady has lived with other dogs when she was a puppy and she got along well with them. Around other dog now lady will bark and owners did not let her interact with the dogs.
Behavior
Lady is calm and relaxed during storms and fireworks. When eating lady will growl at people who come close to her food bowl but doesn’t attempt to bite. Lady also growls when having bones and treats taken away. Lady is use to getting bathes and will sit there for you to wash her but will be afraid of the water. Lady enjoys being brushed. Lady isn’t bothered when being pushed off furniture or held and restrained. When someone unfamiliar approaches the house Lady will bark.
For the new family to know
Lady was described as friendly, affectionate playful, excitable and hyper with a high activity level. Lady love to play chase and fetch but doesn’t play with many toys in the house. When home with Lady she will follow you around seeking attention and to play. L:Ady enjoys playing in the yard for exercise. Lady is mostly house trained but will have accidents once in a while if she isn’t taken out in time. Lady does well for up to 5 hours without going outside. Lady is use to getting one walk a day and pulls on the leash. Lady prefers to go to the bathroom on grass when left in the house and the yard alone Lady is well behaved. Lady eats Pedigree dry food twice a day. Lady knows the commands sit stop and come back. Previous owner believes Lady will do well in a home with a lot of space for her to run.
Behavior during intake
Lady was excited during intake. When counselor approached Lady had a loose wiggly body and came over to smell the counselor. Lady allowed to be scanned but started to get a bit shy. When another dog came into the facility Lady began to bark and lunge forward towards the dog.
