I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 06/25/2016 from NY 10460, owner surrender reason stated was NO TIME.

Basic information Lady A1078845 is a female 11 yo spayed tan cockerspaniel. Lady was given to the owner as a gift and is being surrendered because the owner can no longer afford to keep her. She appears to have glaucoma in her left eye. Socialization Lady is very friendly around strangers and children. She plays exuberantly with both. Lady was not introduced to cats or dogs. Around strangers lady was respectful outside while on walks. Lady has not bitten anyone or any other animal. Behavior Lady wasn’t bothered when having her food bowl touched or toys and treats taken away from her. Lady enjoyed getting a bath and being brushed. Lady didn’t go up on the furniture in the house. Lady is friendly when strangers approach the owner. Lady isn’t bothered when disturbed while sleeping. For the new family to know Lady was described as affectionate, sweet, playful and a cuddler with a medium activity level. Lady likes to play with balls and stuffed toys and knows how to play fetch. Lady is mostly house trained but has accidents in the house when left for more than 7 hours. Lady is well behaved when left in the house alone. Lady knows the commands sit and lay down. Lady pulls lightly on the leash when walked and prefers to go to the bathroom on grass. For exercise lady loves to play in the back yard. Lady ate pedigree dry food. Lady slept on a doggie bed on the floor in the bedroom. Behavior during intake Lady was very friendly awhen i apporached her. she allowed me to scan(+), collar and photograph her on the backdrop. She tolerated all petting and allowed to be picked up. She wagged her little tail when spoken to softly and she was then transferred into a kennel.

Lady walks calmly on leash. She was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body, wagging tail. She was calm and relaxed during handling. Lady was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. He was not interested in toys. Lady was surrender to us. According to her previous owner she is affectionate, sweet, playful with a medium activity level. Lady is very friendly around strangers and children. She plays exuberantly with both. Lady was not introduced to cats or dogs. Around strangers lady was respectful outside while on walks. Lady wasn’t bothered when having her food bowl touched or toys and treats taken away from her”. Lady did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that she can go to an Average home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (may need coaxing to approach.) she is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor.
