09/09/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Kyrin came in as stray, the behavior team decided to do a limited assessment due to his medical condition. Kyrin in the shelter walks calmly on leash. He was not sociable, and was more interested in the surroundings than the handler during the assessment. He was calm and relaxed during handling. Because of his wound in one of his back legs the behavior team decided to skip the tag interaction and use the flank squeeze instead of the paw squeeze. During the flank squeeze he didn’t respond at all to the touch. Kyrin was not interested in toys. Kyrin did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that he can go to an Average home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Flank squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all. Flank squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all. Toy: 1. No interest.
