07/27/16 18:53 Basic Information Kravitz is an approximate 2 year American Pit Bull who was brought in by the police. He was found in a rooftop landing. When the police first approached him Kravitz would growl and bark. The police then provided dog food and chicken and Kravitz took the food and treats. The police tossed the chicken chunks at Kravitz. Afterwards the police tried to pet Kravits and he growled, barked, and lunged. The police stated they had a tough time getting Kravits into the crate. Behavior during Intake Kravitz was tense during intake procedure and would growl if stared at too long. Kravitz was brought in to our facility in a crate and did not seem tolerable of being inside the crate.

07/29/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Kravitz was difficult to remove from his kennel showing teeth, growling and lunging at the leash. He did not show any social behavior. Once Kravitz was out of the kennel he stands tall and makes direct eye contact. He was growling loudly, as well as exposing his front teeth, grabbing at the leash and preparing to lunge forward towards the handler. The behavior team decided to place him back in his kennel as he was difficult to handle. Due to the behavior demonstrated in the shelter the behavior department believes that Kravitz is not an appropriate candidate for SAFER. The behavior department feels that he would do best if placed with a New Hope partner who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification before placement into a permanent home.
