Medical Summary Estimated age: 6 y Microchip noted on Intake? scan negative History : picked up/brought in by police, reportedly bit owner’s child on face and has history of biting in past Subjective: QAR in back of kennel Observed Behavior – quiet, growling when approaching kennel, reportedly will bite and bit rabies pole on intake Evidence of Trauma seen – yes, from biting rabies pole Objective *sedated for PE due to aggressive/questionable behavior** BCS 6/9 EENT: OS episcleral injection, OD ok; AU ears clean, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: swollen and bruised around mandible/gumline, no obvious fractures or malocculusion PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: *sedated exam – nsf; NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: intact male, nsf MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat CNS: sedated but mentation appropriate when awake – no signs of neurologic abnormalities reported/observed Rectal: not performed Assessment: swollen/bruised around mandible/gumline – no obvious fractured teeth or malocclusion observed *Gave 0.8ml Dexdom + 0.8ml Torb IM, reversed with 0.8ml Antisedan after PE* Plan: – gave Rimadyl 1.4 ml SQ – Rimadyl 100 mg PO SID x 2 days – monitor injuries to ensure further treatment isn’t needed (make sure can eat properly) Prognosis: good SURGERY: Temporary waiver due to DOH hold
