10/11/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
10/11/16 18:35 Basic Information Kitty is a 12 year old female Chihuahua who is being surrendered due to aggression. Owner got Kitty two years ago after a family member passed away. Owner stated Kitty has no behavior issues but has never seen a vet. Socialization Kitty is aggressive towards strangers and kids. She plays in a gentle manner with adults and does not play with kids. She lived with a 5 year old female Chihuahua and a male 1 year old French bulldog. She was playful around them and played in a gentle manner with them. She lived with a cat. She was tolerant of the cat. She bit the owner 2 months ago. Kitty was going to bite a delivery person and the owner when to grab her; at this point Kitty bit her owner drawing blood. She has never bitten another animal. Behavior Owner stated Kitty is very aggressive towards people. She barks at thunder storms. She will growl, snap, and bite if treat is taken away, if someone knocks on the door, or if someone approaches the owner. She is not bothered if her food is touched while she is eating, if a toy is taken away, if held, if disturbed while sleeping, if bathed, or if brushed. She will growl and bite if you attempt to trim her nails. She only allows people who she knows to handle her. For a New Family to Know Kitty is described as affectionate and anxious with a medium activity level. Owner stated she liked how Kitty would greet her at the door. She will follow her owner around at home. She likes to play with squeaky and stuffed toys. She likes to play fetch. She was kept mostly indoors and slept with owner. She was fed Back Country Grain free dog food. Owner gave her 1 1/2 cup per day. She is house-trained and will go potty on wee-wee pads and anywhere outside. She is well behaved if left home alone. She has never been left in a yard or crate trained. She does not know any commands. Owner would take her on brisk walks on a leash for exercise. She does not pull and will stay close when walked off the leash. Behavior during Intake Kitty did not tolerate touch. She showed teeth and bark when approached. I was able to wrap her up in a towel and then place her on our counter for a photo.
