Socialization: Around strangers King is friendly and outgoing and when he plays with adults he is exuberant. Around children he is relaxed and playful and gentle when he played. Around other dog he was playful. Behavior: King has never attempted to bite a person or animal. When he hears loud noises King is nervous an d hides. When his food bowl is touched King growls and shows teeth. He isn’t bothered if a treat is taken from his mouth. If a toy is taken from him he lunges and growls. He isn’t bothered if he’s taken off furniture. If he’s held or restrained he tries to get away. He’s friendly when given a bath. He isn’t bothered if his coat is brushed. If his paws are touched he pulls away. He isn’t bothered if an unfamiliar person approached his home or previous owner. For a New Family to Know: King is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, shy, pushy, excitable, and anxious when he hears loud noises. He has a medium activity level. The two things his previous owner liked most about him were; he’s friendly and a gentle giant. When his previous owners were home he would tend to follow them around. At night he slept in his crate. During the day he can be in his crate for 50 minute, at night he can be in his crate for 8 hours. He ate dry Pedigree. He is house trained but had accidents daily if he wasn’t taken out for walks. He is wee wee pad trained. King knows how to sit, come, and “stop”. He was taken on walks twice a week. When off leash he wanders but comes when called, when on leash he pulls hard. Behavior during intake: King Sparrow sat on command and allowed me to take his pictures. He did show teeth and whale eye when I scanned him but he did not growl.
