PROFILE:
King is an 11 year old male yorkie; his family has owned him for over a year. He was a gift from a family friend. One of the family members has severe allergies to King. King was seen by a vet and they believe he has gum disease. King also can no longer hold his urine and has accidents through the house.
King can be a bit shy around strangers but warms up after a few minutes. King is very protective of the children at home, ages 11 and 6, and does not like strangers coming up to them right away. He will bark and growl if they approach the children. He is very gentle with children and adults. Around cats and dogs, he is very relaxed and enjoys company of other dogs and cats. He has not bitten another animal or person.
King recently started to have accidents at home and the owner did not seek medical attention for this. During thunderstorms, he is not bothered. He does not mind being picked up by his family, have his food, treats, or toys taken away, or getting a bath. The family has not trimmed his nails so his behavior is not known.
King is a friendly dog who enjoys spending his days sleeping, getting belly rubs, and going outside to run. He does not like to play with toys. He eats wet food twice a day. He has recently started to have accidents at home but is use to going outside in the grass. He is well behaved when left alone at home. He does not know any tricks and is not crated trained. He likes to walk outside off leash and will stay by your side. If by chance he goes to investigate a smell or sound nearby, he comes back when called.

Our experienced volunteers will do their best to guide you through the process. * We highly discourage everyone from trusting strangers that send them Facebook messages, offering help, for it has ended in truly tragic events.* For more info on behavior codes and ratings, please click here: http://information.urgentpodr.org/acc-placement-status-descriptions.
