02/28/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
02/28/16 12:30 BASIC INFORMATION Layla (A1066220) is a 4 year old female Staffordshire Terrier and King (A1066221) is a 3 year old male Staffordshire terrier. They lived together for King’s entire life. They have been in their prior home for about a year now. Their owner decided to surrender them because she had to move last minute and unfortunately could not find a place that accepts pets. Layla has no known medical issues. King often got ear infections but they were treated with some ear ointment. SOCIALIZATION Layla is said to be high energy and King is said to be a lot calmer than she is. Both of them are extremley affectionate and often comepeted for the attention of their owner. Layla is said to be more eager to meet strangers but King was a bit aloof. Layla would jump on strangers, lick their hands, engage in play, and allow them to pet her. King tends to hide by his owner, keep his head low, and when unknown people attempted to approach his family, he would stick out his chest, body stiff, and let out a quick grunt (especially to males). Layla and King co-exsisted perfectly. Their shared the same bed and living quaters. They were the only pets within the home. They lived with one adult but have been around children as small as three years old. They are both said to be gentle and affectionate with them. BEHAVIOR Laya and King both enjoy being in water. They both used to get bathed in the tub simultaneously. They both allow their nails to be trimmed by their owner without struggle. They have never bitten or scratched any person or other animal. King has been bitten when he was younger so he is said to be a bit fearful around other dogs (not Layla). FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Layla and King both eat wet and dry food mixed of brands such as Pedigree and Alpo. Layla and King both loved to chew on Rawhide bones. Layla played with toys like squeaky stuffed toys and she chased balls. King would sometimes play with Layla and the toys but not all the time. They are both housebroken and go for walks at least twice a day. Layla and King slept together in the living room. INTAK BEHAVIOR Upon intake Layla was jumping on an admissions counselor, loose body, and tongue hanging out. King was a bit more reserved, but his body remaind still and calm. They both allowed to be rubbed and collared by an admissions counselor. Both of them scanned negative for microchips.
03/05/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: King was a little shy when I first met him, but quickly warmed up to be very affectionate and playful. He is easy on leash, seems housebroken, and is very food motivated. He is the short and stocky type with a face that just begs to be kissed. And I’m sure he’ll feel the same way about your face — he’ll crawl into my lap and plant lots of kisses on mine. When I caught him napping in his cage his little tongue was peeking out — adorable! He was surrendered with his housemate, with whom he coexisted perfectly and even loved to take baths with. He is a wonderful little boy looking for a new castle — please come meet him at Brooklyn ACC!
