01/19/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Bayou came to us as a stray, so we do not have any other behavior information other than what has been observed in the shelter at this time. Bayou had soft body language when entering the behavior room and was a bit shy when interacting with the assessor. He allowed the assessor to conduct most of the tactile assessment items with soft body language, but attempted to bite the assessor on the squeeze test. Bayou took the toy away with stiff body language when the assessor attempted to take it from him. The behavior department believes that Bayou will be best placed with a rescue at this time before placement into a permanent home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft or squinty, soft and loose body, and open mouth. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft, or low and a bit fearful. Squeeze 1: 5. Dog tries to bite. Toy 1: 3. Dog takes toy away, keeps a firm hold. His body is stiff. When off leash with other dogs, Bayou greets with a tense body and high tail. He is primarily sexually motivated and spents most of the time marking the yard.
