A Little Bit About Me…

A volunteer writes: All hail the King of kisses! He might not be the youngest boy on the block and a breath mint wouldn’t go amiss either but for those of us who appreciate handsome elderbull charm and plenty of cheeky character, King and his jubbly jowls are the stuff dreams are made of. He’s an imposing-looking figure yet quiet as a mouse in his kennel and so easy to walk on leash, strolling along at a slow sniffing pace, taking care of all his business quickly and mostly ignoring other dogs passing our way. We retire to the yard for a rousing game of fetch during which he’s happy to share his ball then it’s snuggle time on the bench where King relishes a good massage and leans in close to offer some sloppy thank you kisses. He truly is the perfect gentleman….and then I bring out the treats. As soon as King realizes snacks are in the offing he breaks into song and doesn’t stop until he’s satisfied that I’ve given up all the food in my possession. Oh, you wanted to take some photos? Nope, it’s bark’n’treat time now! I’m a sucker for a pretty face so his fabulous jowls and pleading eyes earn him instant forgiveness and of course, even more treats. Once we’re on the road again King’s smart enough to know barking will get him nowhere and after taking the stairs down two hopping feet at a time he obediently trots back to his kennel, waits for me to furnish him with a new duvet then promptly curls up for a nap. Full of big-hearted personality, King has so much life still to live and he can’t wait to share it with a family as uniquely lovable as he is. Visit our Manhattan Care Center today and see what you’ve been missing, King and his kisses will be waiting!

For more information on adopting from the NYC AC&C, or to find a rescue to assist, please read the following: http://urgentpodr.org/adoption-info-and-list-of-rescues.

If you are local to the Tri-State, New England, and the general Northeast United States area, and you are SERIOUS about adopting or fostering one of the animals at NYC ACC, please read our MUST READ section for instructions, or email helpdogs@urgentpodr.org. Our experienced volunteers will do their best to guide you through the process.

* We highly discourage everyone from trusting strangers that send them Facebook messages, offering help, for it has ended in truly tragic events.*
