01/19/16 14:16 Basic Information: Khloe is a 4 year old unaltered female American Pit-Bull. She was given as a gift from a friend. Khole appears to be healthy and has no health concerns. Owner surrenders Khlo due to landlord issues. Social Life and Personality: Khloe lived with three adults and children ages 8 months, 6, 10, 16, and 18 years old. Owner stated Khloe is relaxed and playful towards everyone in the household. Khloe is friendly/outgoing with strangers and gentle with adults. Khloe is playful towards dogs see interacts with on walks and lived with two cats. Owner stated Khloe is playful and respectful towards the two cats at home. Behavior: Khloe never bitten anyone owner stated. She often poops and urinates indoors if she hasn’t been taken out fast enough. She allow owner to touch her food or take toys or treats away from her mouth. If owner wants her to get off the furniture owner will stay command get down and she will jump down. She isn’t bothered by nail trim or being brushed. Khloe isn’t bothered by being restrained but if hyper she will continue being hyper. Owner stated depending on the person Khloe will growl and bark at unfamiliar people who she fears but friendly to unfamiliar who she thinks is no harm. For a New Family to Know: Owner describes Khloe as friendly, affectionate, playful, and excitable. Her activity is high and likes to play with plastic bone. Owner stated she is obedient and smart. She likes to play chase with her balls and tug a war with a towel. She’s mostly indoors and is well behaved when home alone. Khloe eats dry food called Pedigree and sleeps in owner’s bed. Khloe is trained to use the bathroom outdoors and goes for walks 3 times on a leash. Khloe is calm and collective while on walks and if off leash she wanders but comes when called. Khloe knows commands such as sit, stay and give paw. Owner stated Khloe will do best in a home with children. Intake Behavior: Upon intake Khloe was calm and relaxed. She scanned negative for a microchip and allowed all handling.

Khloe previously lived with 3 adults, 2 cats and children ages 8 months, 6, 10, 16, and 18 years old. The owner stated Khloe is relaxed and playful towards everyone in the household. The owner mentioned Khloe is playful and respectful towards the two cats at home. The owner describes Khloe as friendly, affectionate, playful, and excitable. It was reported Khloe is house trained, has a high activity level and well behaved when home alone. At intake it was reported Khloe was calm and relaxed, she allowed all handling. During SAFER Khloe came into the assessment room calm and relaxed, she was shy but social towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Khloe follows the handler with her body low and fearful during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Khloe was easy to handle when engaged with the item. In addition, we recommend that introductions are done slowly, and Khloe be given the opportunity to interact at their own pace, so the behavior department feels she can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 2. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her body posture is tense and fearful; her tail is low and not moving. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, her tail is between her legs, body tense, mouth closed. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body low and a bit fearful. Squeeze 1 & 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Her eyes are averted and her ears are relaxed. Toy: 1. Minimal interest in toy, dog smells, then turns away. At first, Khloe may be timid and cautious when meeting a new dog however her nervousness quickly subsides and she engages in running, bouncy play. She takes appropriate breaks in play and self-handicaps when the energy level gets high. Khloe also takes corrections from the other dog appropriately and politely, and delivers appropriate corrections for obnoxious behavior. Based on her behavior in playgroup, the Behavior Department recommends that Khloe go to a home with a respectful male or female dog of any playstyle. *** Social Greeter Dog *** When off leash with other dogs, Khloe is slow to greet and exhibits a nervous body posture with a low head. She is sensitive to the proximity of the other dog and avoids all interaction. 1/26 update: Khloe greets the female helper dog with a loose, wiggly body but with raised hackles. Her nervousness quickly subsides and she engages in running, bouncy play. Khloe takes appropriate breaks in play and self-handicaps when the energy level gets high. She also takes corrections from the other dog appropriately and politely. 1/27 update: Khloe greets with an exuberant and bouncy play bow. She enters the pen full of energy and engages in running chase play. She tolerates a sexually motivated male persistently mouthing her on her head and neck. 1/28 update: Khloe continues to be social and playful. She is tolerant of several sexually motivated and pushy males and does offer appropriate corrections.
