05/09/2017 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: A tiny black gem with an oversized heart and the sweetest white chin scruff, Kenzie simply couldn’t be more adorable if she tried! She toddles easily down the street despite her cargo of milk and does all her business like a good girl before settling into an effortless ‘sit’ and posing beautifully for some pictures. I can only imagine how gorgeous her puppies must have been and her soft, affectionate nature tells me they had a very loving start in life, however brief their time together. Given her previous ‘job’ it’s understandable that she’d be a bit timid around boys but Kenzie’s keen to socialize with female dogs and when introduced to a male her natural reaction is to distance herself rather than go on the defensive. She’s shy at first but oh so ready to make friends with us humans and naturally she passed her behavior evaluation with flying colors and perfect scores on everything from handling to toy sharing. Everyone who sees her can’t help but stop and awww and while we were in the middle of our photo shoot, two police officers even pulled over to chat and compliment her pretty looks and gentle nature. You know Kenzie’s an extra special dog when she garners the NYPD seal of approval! Snuggles, kisses, adoring puppy eyes, all this and more could be yours when you bring her home sweet home. Come in to our Manhattan Care Center for a meet’n’greet and leave with a wonderful new best friend, Kenzie is waiting to welcome you with an open heart.

ENERGY LEVEL: We have no history on Kenzie so we cannot be certain of her behavior in a home environment. However, she is a young, enthusiastic, social dog who will need daily mental and physical activity to keep her engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct her energy and enthusiasm. RECOMMENDATIONS: Average (suitable for an adopter with an average amount of dog experience)
