I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 08/14/2016 from NY 11417, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY. I came in with Group/Litter #K16-069936.

Helper-dog A1010487 Kelly came onto the shelter as a stray; her past behaviors in a home are unknown. Behavior during intake: Kelly was relaxed and allowed all handling. During SAFER Kelly came into the assessment room friendly with a relaxed body posture she had a loose body posture when interacting with the assessor; she allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Kelly’s tag interaction, and resource portion of the assessment was skipped due to gestation. Kelly was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Kelly appears to be sociable, and did not display any behavior concerns, so the department feels can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, open mouth. Squeeze 1:1 Dog gently pulls back her paw. Squeeze2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Toy: 1. No interest. Playgroup:When off leash at the care center, Kelly greets the other dog at the gate with a neutral body. Once the door is opened, she exchanges sniff then wanders the pen. She appropriately corrected a sexually motivated male.

Kelly was surrender as a stray so her past behavior with other dogs is unknown. 8/17: When off leash at the care center, Kelly greets the other dog at the gate with a neutral body. Once the door is opened, she exchanges sniff then wanders the pen. She appropriately corrected a sexually motivated male. 8/20: When interacting with male and female dogs, Kelly displays assertive posturing and attempts to mount. She is able to listen to handler interruption and wanders in the pen displaying loose and wiggly body language.
