03/31/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
03/31/16 12:22 BASIC INFO Kelly A1068976 is an approximately 3 year old American Pitbull Terrier Mix. She is being surrendered to the shelter because she was found as a stray at an empty apartment. Finder did not know the building number, only cross street where the dog was found. Finder cannot keep as he has 2 dogs of his own. Finder put a leash on Kelly and brought to ACCNYC. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE Kelly was hyperactive and wiggly tailed. She approached all Staff soliciting attention. She allowed all handling, collaring nd photos.
04/02/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: As Kelly and I were snuggling in the yard a staff person called out, “get a room’, and I laughed. Indeed, we were kissing, hugging, and Kelly was pressing her head against my chest wagging her tail happily. She’s an awesome little girl in a stunning coat, well groomed, a good weight and a fabulous smile lights up her face. Showing off her possible housetraining skills the moment we were out the door, she pulls a bit on the leash as she wags her way down the street. She loves to meet new people and they love to meet her as she’s an irresistible little imp with a great smile. Even her intake picture shows her smiling – are you noticing a theme here? Greeting a dog in an adjoining pen with an easy tail wag she’s easy in her friendly hello. This is one happy, friendly, sweet loving little girl whose enthusiastic and loving response to just about anything is guaranteed to light up your life. If you’re looking for a reason to smile every day come meet Kelly. She won’t let you be grumpy – she’ll make you smile every waking moment of your day. A Volunteer Wrote: Kelly came over, put her head in my lap, and refused to move—except when I would move my hand from her head to reach into my pocket, when she would look at me with those beautiful blue eyes and give me a little nudge with her beautiful nose, as if to say, “Please don’t stop. Please just put your hand back.” This extraordinary dog—tender, dear, gentle (she aced her behavior test)—asks for so little but gives back so much love our hearts ached for her. Ached to take our hand off of her, since it clearly offers her comfort, and ached to put her back in a kennel where she continues to wait for her forever family and a forever full of hugs and love. Please, don’t ask Kelly to wait any longer! She’s a one in a million.
