A volunteer writes:

I was very impressed by Kazz. At first, his looks.. He is VERY attractive…Shiny black, sparkling eyes looking right into mine, big smile, tail wagging and ready to be my friend…Its a go..for sure…Out of his kennel, Kazz is no disappointment.  He is gorgeous in his semi long hair and thick coat. His tail is almost bushy. We are told he could be part Shepie, although there seems to be some Lab in him too. Kazz is a great walker (after some initial zigzagging) who does his business right away as we exit the care center, no marking involved. He does not chase the pigeons and meets properly other dogs, big or small in the street. He can sit on command and is polite taking treats from my hand. Kazz does not mind to be tethered for the pictures and to be outfitted with a scarf. He loves to run and play with a ball that he does not guard.I so enjoy my time with him in the yard. He is so happy playing  and having fun with toys.. He is an active young man but easily managed and so pleasurable ! Kazz was surrendered to us for no fault of his own. He comes with glowing comments from his former family who even recommends  for Kazz to live in a house with children… That is something I would love to hear if I was to adopt a dog… Kazz is an amazing young lad, gorgeous, friendly, sociable, affectionate and fun to be with. He will bring  love and spark to your life if you take him home as your forever best friend… Come and meet him soon at the Manhattan Care Center.

PROFILE:

Basic Information: Kazz is a 12 month old unaltered male German shepherd/ pit-bull mix. He was given to owner 9 month ago from a neighbor. Kazz has been to the mobile clinic for vaccines and microchip. He appears healthy and has no health concerns. Owner surrenders due to personal problems at this time.

Social Life and Personality: Kazz lived with one female adult and an 11 year old male. Owner stated Kazz is friendly/ outgoing towards everyone he meets. He also is very energetic towards everyone in the household. Kazz plays gentle with the 11 year old and doesn’t any signs of aggression. Kazz never lived with another dog however, he has been to dog parks and interacts playfully and has respect towards other dogs. If Kazz is not in a playful mood he will ignore other animal including cats which he stares at never chases or bark at.  Kazz is mostly indoors and activity level is very high. Owner describes Kazz as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident, excitable and assertive.
Behavior: Kazz has never bitten or scratched anyone owner stated. Kazz allows owner to touch his food bowl while and also allows toys and treats taking away from his mouth. He isn’t bothered when being pushed off furniture or disturb while sleeping. Kazz enjoys taking baths and likes to be brushed. He will bark if an unfamiliar person  approaches  the house but never a doesn’t when someone approaches a family member.
For a New Family to Know: Kazz is trained to use the bathroom outdoors on a leash and pulls very hard. He goes on walks twice a day and when not walked he is trained to use the bathroom on training pads. Kazz is use to eating dry food called Pedigreed and wet food called Alp mix twice a day. He likes to follow owner around the house or stay in his favorite spot which is his crate. Kazzis crate trained and usually stay in a crate up to 7 hours per day. He likes to play with balls, ropes and squeaky toys. Kazz knows commands such as sit, lay, no, stop, and good dog. Owner stated Kazz will do best in a home with children.
