. 01/22/16 14:44 Basic Information: Kash is a 2 year old unaltered male American Pit-Bull mix. He was given a year ago as a gift from family member. Owner surrenders Kash due to owner being sick. Social Life and Personality: Kash Lived with two adults and been around children ages 2,4 and 5. Owner stated he is playful with children can be somewhat rough due to size. Towards strangers Kash is shy for a few minutes to sniff. Kash lived another dog which was a Chihuahua. Owner stated he was respectful towards the dog thinking it was his baby. His behavior is unknown towards cats. Kash is mostly indoors and activity level is very high. Owner describes Kash as affectionate, pushy, and independent. Behavior: Kash has never bitten anyone owner stated. He’ friendly when owner touch his food bowl or take toys or treats way from his mouth. He lets owner know when he wants water because he will bring his bowl to them. He’s afraid of water and rather not enters in the tub to take a bath but will tolerant a bucket of water pour on him. He barks too much especially when unfamiliar people approach the house or family member. For a New Family to Know: Kash is trained to use the bathroom outdoors and doesn’t pull on a leash. He likes to walk 4-5 blocks a day. He knows commands such as sit, lay down, check, and roll over. He likes to play with balls and ropes. He likes to follow owner around the house or be in the same room. He never been crate trained but whines when home alone. He eats dry foo called Pedigree and likes treats such as crackers, white rice, ice cream and beef jerky. Owner stated he will do best in a home with younger people. Intake Behavior: Upon intake Kash was loose body and whining. He scanned negative for a microchip and allowed all handling.

Kash previously lived with two adults, another dog and has been around children ages 2, 4 and 5 years old. The owner stated Kash is playful with children but can be somewhat rough due to size. The owner mentioned Kash was respectful towards the dog thinking it was his baby. The owner describes Kash as affectionate, pushy and independent. It was reported by the owner Kash is house trained, has a high activity level and when home alone he tends to whines. At intake it was reported kash had loose body posture and was also whining, he allowed all handling. During SAFER Kash came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, he was friendly and playful towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Kash joins the game during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Kash was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Kash appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels he can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. His ears are back, his tail is down, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. Dog jumps on Assessor once play begins. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2:1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy: 1. Minimal interest in Toy, dog smells, then turns away. Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Kash greets the other dog with a loose, wiggly body. He exchanges sniffs but does not engage in play. He does however become sexually motivated.
