There’s a bright yellow sign on her door saying ‘Please walk me, I’m house trained!’ but even if she hadn’t earned this accolade I’d still have been drawn to shy little Karma like a magnet. Is it her bulldoggy good looks? That soft, lop-sided smile and tiny tail wag when I sweet talk her? Or just her quietly affectionate nature shining through? Whatever the magic is, I’ve fallen under Karma’s spell completely and I guarantee you won’t find a more gentle, amenable companion than this petite Princess. It took a few days for her to settle in and trust everyone at the Care Center but now she’s happy to see me and eager to be leashed, donning a coat with no fuss and toddling out into the rainy weather to take care of her business tout suite. She seems just as chill around other dogs too and meets them with her characteristic good manners and a relaxed body. I can towel Karma off, hug her, pet her and even kiss her for a selfie and she accepts it all with gentle grace, the same way she mouths treats after sitting politely to accept them. Even going back into her den is easy, though it’s clear she’d rather stay out and spend time with me instead and it’s hard to close the door on her pleading eyes. We’re both hoping that some day soon the door will open and she’ll step out and into a brand new life with a wonderful forever family. Good Karma isn’t as elusive as you think…she’s waiting patiently at our Manhattan Care Center, come fall in love today!
