07/21/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Kare walks calmly on leash. He was fearful and repeatedly attempted to get away from the handler during the assessment. Kare had a low body position during the tag test, but followed the assessor at the end of the leash. He became stiff and uncomfortable during paw handling air snapping at the assessor hand. The behavior team decided to skip the rest of the handling test due to safety concerns. During the resources Kare showed no interest in toys. Kare was surrender to us. According to his previous owner Kare will sometimes growl at strangers or children when he first meets them & requires a few minutes to get to know someone first before becoming friendly. The behavior department feels that he would do best if placed with a New Hope partner who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification before placement into a permanent home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 2. Dog accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, shy body language, mouth closed, lip long, ears likely back, may lip lick. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body low and a bit fearful. Squeeze 1: 5.
