I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 06/22/2016 from NY 11207, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

06/22/16 10:47 Kane was brought in as stray by a client, he was found in yard. While in client care he ate dry food and spent time with a small breed dog. During intake all handling was allowed from counselor to scan (negative), collared and photographed.

06/24/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE

Kane pulls a bit on the leash. He was excited but very interested in interacting with handler during assessment – jumped up, mouthy (moderate). He was excited during some of the handling items, but had soft body language. Kane was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test but approach at the end of the game and became a bit mouthy (moderate). During the resources Kane shows minimal interest with the toy. Kane is an active dog he need a significant amount of exercise and mental stimulation. The behavior department feels that he can go to an experience home no young children who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification Sensitivity: 2. Dog displays high energy and movement, but it is directed toward getting closer to the Assessor. His body is soft, likely panting, may jump up between attempts to lick Assessor. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (may need coaxing to approach.) He is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Lick hand Squeeze2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Lick hand Toy: 1. Minimal interest. Dog may smell or lick toy, then turn away. According to Kane’s finder, Kane has spent time with a small breed dog. When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Kane is extremely sexually motivated. He persistently attempts to mount the female dog after she corrects him and handlers interrupt. He begins to become frustrated when he can not mount, biting the female dog. 6/23: Kane is sexually motivated. He persistently attempts to mount the female dog after she corrects him and handlers interrupt. 6/29: Kane displayed the same persistently sexually motivated behavior. He began to become frustrated when he could not mount, biting the female dog.
